RANDOM HOUSE Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Steven A. Amale, has research experience of over 25 years. He was a Ford Foundation Research Scholar in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He worked with Research and Marketing Services Nigeria & Research and Marketing Services International for several years where he held posts of Research Executive, General Manager and Managing Director/Country Head, Ghana and WAC. Steve has visited all the 37 states of Nigeria and has lived in different parts of the country thus giving him a unique understanding of Nigerian cultures. He communicates in several Nigerian languages.
Apart from his work in Research, Amale also worked with Great Brands Nigeria Limited the distribution company for British American Tobacco (BAT) as Business Analyst and also as a lecturer of International Economic Relations and International Finance in the Department of International Relations in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.
He has research experience across the West African Sub-Region as well as from Central & Eastern Africa. Countries he has overseen studies in include Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Togo, Niger, Benin Sierra Leone, Liberia, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Cameroon markets. He has acquired substantial experience in the area of marketing research especially in FMCGs, telecommunications, bank sector studies, general consumer surveys, social research, audience surveys, consumer product test, tracking studies, New product Development, advertising, etc.
Amale, who straddles both qualitative and quantitative studies has also co - ordinated several projects from both approaches. Amale has worked on projects for several clients among them : Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Cadbury, BAT, MTN (Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon), Guinness, Nestle, PZ, Accra Breweries, ORC Macro, Commercial Market Strategies, Vodafone, Tigo, Airtel, USAID, Friesland, Community Water and Sanitation Agency, Unicef, NetMark, United Bank for Africa, Stanbic Bank, BBC and RFI among others.
Amale has an M.Sc in Political Economy and a B.Sc in International Studies both from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He has also attended numerous courses which include Statistical Data Analysis, organized by Inter Data, Istanbul Turkey; Best Practices In Marketing Research organized by Data Plus, Lyon France and Research Methodology and Report Writing course at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research, University of Ghana, a Retail Audit Workshop organized by Burke Institute/BAT Nigeria and Balance Score Card training by Palladium in Ghana. Amale has attended several professional conferences among them ESOMAR, SAMRA and PAMRO in Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana & Cameroon.
Amale is actively involved with organisations pushing new initiatives in mobile VAS & Entertainment in Africa and consultation for Start-Ups. He has over a dozen publications in recognized journals and books on international finance and investments. He has also presented in Market Research Association Congresses .
