Our Team Leader
RANDOM HOUSE chief executive officer, Mr. Steven Ayo Amale,
has research experience spanning over a decade. He was a Ford Foundation
Research Scholar in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He
worked with Research and Marketing Services for several years where
he held posts of Research Executive, General Manager and Managing Director,
Ghana. He has research experience in the Ghanaian, Togolese, Nigerian,
Nigerien, Beninois and Cameroonian markets. Amale also worked with Great
Brands Nigeria Limited the distribution company for British American
Tobacco (BAT) as Business Analyst in Nigeria. He has acquired substantial
experience in the area of marketing research especially in fmcgs, telecommunications,
bank sector studies, general consumer surveys, social research, audience
surveys, consumer product test, tracking studies etc.
Amale, who straddles both qualitative and quantitative studies has also
co-ordinated several FGDs, Ethnographic Studies and Participatory Rapid
Appraisal Studies in the countries mentioned above. Amale has worked
on projects for several clients among them : Unilever, Cadbury, BAT,
Guinness, Nestle, PZ, Accra Breweries, ORC Macro, Commercial Market
Strategies, Community Water and Sanitation Agency, Unicef, NetMark,
United Bank for Africa, Stanbic Bank, BBC and RFI among others.
Amale has an M.Sc in Political Economy and a B.Sc in International Studies
both from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He has also attended
numerous courses which include Statistical Data Analysis, organized
by Inter Data, Istanbul Turkey; Best Practices In Marketing Research
organised by Data Plus, Lyon France and Research Methodology and Report
Writing course at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic
Research, University of Ghana. Amale has attended several professional
conferences among them ESOMAR and PAMRO. He also attended in retail
audit workshop organised by BAT Nigeria and AcNeilben Burke Institute.
He has over a dozen publications on international finance and investments.
